Rotary of Como

A fabulous presentation tonight by Ngala CEO Ashley Reid.
Each year the Rotary Club of Como presents a cheque for $5000
to Ngala to assist with the further education of its staff
so they can share the knowledge with their colleagues
 and benefit the community.
Ashley gave us an update on the work of Ngala,
its outreach programs and what value they have received
 by our donation each year.
RC Como are very proud supporters of NGALA.
Pictured with Ashley is Past President Lindsay Brown
who had the vision to create the programme three years ago.

Rotary Club of Mount Lawley

Last night we were very pleased to award Bradley Brider,
a year 12 student at St Stephen's School,
the Charles Cornish Memorial Rotary Scholarship.
The award for blind and visually impaired students assists
in the purchasing of specialised visual aid equipment.
Bradley intends to go to university next year
and study physical education and sports science.
His new MacBook Pro courtesy of the trust will
certainly help him further his studies!
As captain of the WA Blind Cricket Team and someone
who has played cricket for Australia in India and South Africa,
we have no doubt he's going to excel in his chosen fields of study

Paul Borrud constructs a slip ’n’ slide every year for Australia Day.
This year’s was an amazing 100 meters long,
downhill into a pond that’s not big enough to stop everyone who plunges into it
. He’s thought of everything: the BBQ, beer, tents for sun protection,
floats, and tractors carrying people up the hill.
